Oakwell Workforce is not a national agency that opened a regional office. We were built here, by a family that has been part of this region's industrial fabric for generations.
Oakwell Workforce Limited was founded in Stourbridge with one simple belief: that industrial staffing should be built on relationships, not transactions. That workers should be known, not just processed. That clients should have a real person to call, not a queue to join.
Our family has deep roots in the Black Country. This region is known for its people — hard-working, direct, and proud of what they make. We share those values, and they shape everything about how we run this agency.
We started Oakwell because we saw a gap that the national agencies had created: a space where no one knew anyone personally, where workers were numbers and clients were accounts, and where a 6am phone call was handled by an automated system. We built this agency to be the antidote to all of that.
“When we place a worker, our name goes with them.”
Not a wall of corporate buzzwords. These are the principles we make decisions by.
Every worker is a person with bills, family, and ambitions — not a unit of labour. Every client is a business with real problems. We never forget that on either side of the relationship.
Anyone can answer the phone at 2pm on a Tuesday. The test is 5:45am on a Monday when a shift has fallen apart. That is when we answer — because that is when our clients actually need us.
We would rather tell a client we cannot fill a position than send someone unsuitable. Honesty builds longer relationships than promises ever could.
We are not parachuting in from a head office somewhere else. Stourbridge is home. The Black Country is where we built this business, and that creates accountability no national agency can replicate.
Every worker right-to-work checked. Every placement fully insured. AWR tracked from day one. PAYE handled properly. These are not boxes we tick — they are the foundation of how we operate.
We want to grow — but not at the expense of what makes us different. Every new client and worker will be handled with the same care we gave to the first. Scale does not mean standards slip.
“To supply the hardest-working region in Britain with workers who are known, assessed, and placed with care — and to be the agency that answers when others don't.”
Everything you would expect from a major agency — with the personal service of a family business.
